Science Simplified
Science is complicated, but that doesn’t mean it has to be hard to understand.
The goal of most science communication is to describe the results of experiments to other scientists. We take our findings and write them up in detail and publish them in scientific journals. These publications explain what we’ve done, our results, and why it matters to our field.
That’s what we’re trained to do, and we often do it well. But what about everyone else that’s not a scientist? What about everyone that’s interested, but doesn’t want to sit through 10 years of training just to understand the writing? Well, they’re often just left out. Or misled by bad pop science.
My goal with Science Simplified is to do my small part as a scientist to make the scientific world accessible. Simply put, I want to find interesting science and tell you about it. Why? Because everyone should be able to understand and appreciate the incredible breakthroughs happening around us every day without having to sit with a dictionary (that probably doesn’t know the right words anyway).
Each week I’ll find and write about a piece of science I find interesting and send it to you.
"Nothing in science has any value to society if it is not communicated."
